FAQ

Will there be morning and afternoon pairs games for newer players all three days?

For newer players, we're running 199er and 749er games (may be combined based on attendance) in the morning and afternoon, all three days. Play one session or both on whichever days you like.

What's a 199er or a 749er game?

A 199er game is a game in which all players have fewer than 200 masterpoints and in a 749er, all players have fewer than 750 masterpoints. You'll be playing against and be scored against players who have a level of experience similar to yours. In addition, these games are "stratified," which means that you can receive masterpoints based on your placement among players who are close to your holdings. In the 199er, for instance, players can receive credit for their placement among players with 0-25 masterpoints, 0-75 masterpoints, or 0-200 masterpoints.

What are silver points?

Silver points are a particular color of Masterpoints that are required for advancement in ACBL rank. They are awarded at Sectional tournaments such as the Summer on the Sound tournament. Sunday's games are designated as "Grass Roots" games and will have higher than normal masterpoint awards, all silver.

What if I don't have  partner?

If you know or even think you'll need a partner, please email partnerships@ctbridge.org and we'll get right on it for you. If you come on tournament day without a partner, we will match you up with others who come or with the people we will have available to serve as partners. Either way, you'll be set, so come on down!
